Total Taekwondo Safeguarding Policy Statement
Total Taekwondo is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment for all participants. We believe that everyone has the right to be protected from all forms of harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This safeguarding policy statement outlines our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people, and adults involved in our activities.

Key Commitments
1. Safety and Well-being: The safety and well-being of our participants are our top priorities. We will take all necessary steps to protect individuals from harm and ensure their welfare is safeguarded.
2. Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, harassment, bullying, and any form of exploitation. All allegations and concerns will be taken seriously and responded to promptly and appropriately.
3. Empowerment: We will empower individuals by respecting their rights, providing information, and involving them in decisions that affect their lives.
4. Prevention: We are committed to preventing abuse and harm through robust recruitment practices, training, awareness-raising, and the promotion of a safe and inclusive environment.
5. Partnership: We will work in partnership with participants, their families, external agencies, and the wider community to promote safeguarding and respond effectively to any concerns.

Implementation
1. Policies and Procedures: We have clear safeguarding policies and procedures in place, including a Code of Conduct, whistleblowing procedure, and safeguarding reporting procedures.
2. Training and Education: All staff, volunteers, and members will receive regular training on safeguarding issues to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can recognize and respond to concerns.
3. Reporting Concerns: Any concerns about the welfare of a participant must be reported immediately to the Club Welfare Officer, Christine Leivers, at 07725-117277. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and sensitivity.
4. Support: We will provide appropriate support to those affected by safeguarding concerns, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support services.
5. Review and Monitoring: This safeguarding policy statement will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and up-to-date with current legislation and best practices.
