Here’s a detailed look at what’s on the horizon from September:
Emphasising Discipline and Tradition
At its core, Taekwondo is a traditional martial art that thrives on discipline and respect. We are recommitting to these fundamental values by cracking down on discipline across all our classes. This renewed focus ensures that every student not only hones their physical skills but also embodies the principles of Taekwondo in their daily lives.
Enhanced Training Resources
To support your learning and development, we are introducing more resources for use in lessons. This includes new training aids and state-of-the-art protective equipment, ensuring that you can train safely and effectively.
Streamlined Class Booking System For Trial Lessons
Managing class sizes and ensuring that every student receives individual attention is crucial. To aid in this, we are launching a new class booking system. This system will make it easier for prospects to book classes and help us manage class sizes efficiently.
Expanded Class Schedule
We are excited to announce additional classes on our PRESTON timetable. This expansion caters to our growing community and provides more opportunities for students to train and improve their skills.
Due to increasing demand, we are adding more Ninja classes. This expansion provides greater flexibility and value for our Unlimited package members, ensuring everyone has ample opportunity to train.
All current classes will remain the same! We will only be adding!
Enhanced Competitive Training
As more students excel in competitive Taekwondo, we are adapting our timetable to better support training for poomsae and sport Taekwondo. This change will offer a more comprehensive program for our competitive athletes.
Strengthened Coaching Team
Consistency in coaching is key to a cohesive learning experience. We are increasing and maintaining a consistent coaching team to ensure that every class is led by experienced and dedicated instructors.
High Uniform Standards
Uniforms are a vital part of Taekwondo tradition. We are implementing strict uniform requirements for all students and coaches to maintain high standards of presentation and respect for the art.
Higher Coaching Standards
Our coaches will be held to elevated standards of coaching and conduct. This commitment ensures that every student receives the best possible guidance and support in their Taekwondo journey.
Improved Ninja to Taekwondo Transition
Transitioning from our Ninja program to Taekwondo classes can be challenging. To make this smoother, we are improving the transition process, ensuring that young practitioners move seamlessly and confidently between the programs.
Expanded Ninja Skills and Belts
We are introducing new skills and belts within our Ninja program to keep the training dynamic and engaging.

Combination Kicks
Basic Blocks
Sport Taekwondo and movement
These new skills will pilot in Preston before expanding to Ormskirk and Southport, providing more content and challenges for our young Ninjas.
New Ninja Belt!
After Black stripe we will be adding a new belt Yellow Belt with Black stripe through the middle
Black stripe = Taekwondo White Belt (10th Kup)
Yellow Belt with Black Stripe = Taekwondo Yellow Tag (9th Kup)
Gradings
After each grading the student may request the syllabus for their next grade. This will ensure that they know what is required for their next grade and will support practice at home.
The Ninja gradings will continue become more challenging with the introduction of the new stripes. The format of the ninja gradings will be changing slightly to make it more challenging and examine each ninja further, The structure will be set out familiar to the taekwondo gradings and also continue to have a 1-2-1 section too.
Student Handbook
A comprehensive student handbook is in the works, which will include essential skills, terminology, etiquette, and more. This resource will be invaluable for students at all levels.
Online Content
We are developing online tutorials, tips, and training advice exclusively for Total Taekwondo members. This content will allow you to practice at home and continue your learning outside of class.
New Training Gear
Launching in September, our new 2024/25 Total Taekwondo training gear will offer both premium and budget options, ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality uniforms and equipment.
Student of the Month
To recognize outstanding effort and dedication, we are introducing a Student of the Month award in both Southport and Preston. This accolade will honour students who exemplify the tenets of Taekwondo through perseverance, discipline, and improvement.
For example, a student like James, who has shown remarkable perseverance by attending every lesson and mastering poomsae two, will be celebrated for his dedication and hard work.
