What an unforgettable weekend at the 3rd Open Poomsae & Sparring Championships at Alis Dojang! Our team came, they competed, and they dominated the mats, bringing home impressive results across both disciplines. Here's the final recap from an action-packed weekend:
Poomsae Championships – A Day of Golds
The Poomsae competition saw some truly outstanding performances, with our athletes stepping up in every category. In total, we brought home 7 golds, a silver, and two bronzes! It was a remarkable display of talent and precision.
Eddie took home the gold in the U14 Dan Individual Male division
Naomi claimed the gold in the U14 Dan Individual Female division
Blancka shone in the K1 Female Individual category
Eddie and Naomi also teamed up to win gold in the U14 Male Team and U14 Female Team events with Nomad Taekwondo
The dynamic duo of Naomi & Eddie secured another gold in the U14 Dan Pair event
Sparring Championships – Strong Performances Across the Board
In the Sparring competition, our athletes proved their mettle, showing incredible determination and sportsmanship. While not every match ended in a win, the level of effort and focus was inspiring:
Marcus, Ethan, and Millie each made it to the Quarterfinals (QF) in their respective divisions
Ruby, competing in her second-ever competition, showed great promise and determination
Imogen brought her A-game, showing off her sparring skills
Harry, competing in his first-ever open competition, displayed nerves of steel and held his own against tough opponents
Team Achievements: Best Small Team Award
One of the weekend’s highlights was receiving the Team Trophy for the Best Small Team Award from Total Taekwondo. This recognition is a testament to the incredible bond and strength of our athletes, and we couldn’t be prouder of the entire team.
